On social media recently we’ve been talking a lot about our training contracts and assessment days. We now have the exciting part which is welcoming them to the business!
After the recruitment we’ve had a really exciting time as this month we welcomed 7 Trainee Solicitors across the Geldards offices!
Due to the fantastic talent that we’ve been receiving recently, we have been fortunate enough to appoint both existing Geldards employees and brand-new faces on our two-year training contract with the firm.
They will each complete four, six-month seats in various legal teams across the Cardiff, Nottingham and Derby offices.
Experiences so far…
Their first week at the firm saw them undertake a five-day long induction. They all visited the Cardiff, Nottingham and Derby offices, met staff and Partners at each office and were introduced to the systems they will be working with, the other departments in the firm including Marketing, L&D and KM, and other activities they can get involved in, including GSR and Sports and Social.
With a fantastic welcome from our Chief Executive Jeff Pearson on Monday morning, they were able to look around the office and start to get to know everyone. First days are always difficult but with such a great group they were getting along in no time!
Who are they?
The new trainees, and their first seats are (back L-R, front L-R):
- Jon James – Injury Dispute Resolution – Cardiff
- Tom Wilcher – Commercial Property – Derby
- Al Hussain –Property Litigation – Cardiff
- Chloe Price – Commercial Property – Cardiff
- Grace Palmer –Construction – Cardiff

- Tamara Dasht –Dispute Resolution – Nottingham
Thoughts so far…
The first few weeks are always nerve wracking, but the team have gotten on so well already, after having some great opportunities to socialise in the first week they’ve now had the chance to really get their teeth stuck into their seats.
Melissa Moran, Head of HR, said:
“September is a very exciting month as we welcome our new Trainee Solicitors to Geldards. Our trainee recruitment process is notoriously challenging, and as a result, we are confident we recruit highly talented, knowledgeable and well-rounded Trainee Solicitors for our legal teams.
“I would like to congratulate each of the new trainees on obtaining their training contracts and wish them lots of luck as they begin their journey. I would also like to remind them that they have the full backing of both the HR team and the rest of the company, we will support them in any way we can to ensure they become the very best lawyers they can be.”
